Yep, I did it: I went paragliding in Lima! First time experience, I was really scared but… totally worth it!!
People usually start from Miraflores but I started in Barranco, with Juan. The 10 min tour takes you over the ocean, the beach and over Barranco. A wonderful experience.
Juan is 50 years old and has been flying since he was 13. He is the only approved paragliding service in Barranco. He didn’t tell me but after a bit of research, I found out tat he is the national champion of paragliding! He’s from Lima but lived in the US for a while so his English is very good, he’s very reassuring, gives clear directions on what to do and explains a few interesting things about Barranco while flying over. I really recommend going with him, you don’t need to book in advance, just go and fly… Also, it’s cheaper than in Miraflores (about 20 US$ less).
Juan will let you bring your personal camera/phone, no extra charge. Don’t worry, you won’t drop it, and Juan doesn’t offer any video service.
