Travelers from around the world come to Peru to explore the Andes Mountains. Whether you have an adventurous backpacker or want to travel in luxury, dining at Cusco’s restaurants should not be missed. Located between the Andes and the nape of the clouds, Cusco offers an impressive selection of restaurants and bars to suit everyone’s budget.

- Cicciolina: over the second floor of an old colonial house, this is a charming venue split between a tapas bar and an intimate candle-lit restaurant. Served from an open-plan kitchen, the menu offers essentially Mediterranean food but with a local touch, as well as amazing wines. I would recommend sitting at the bar and discovering the tapas menu for a more cozy ambiance. Better book in advance and respect the smart casual dress code! Triunfo 393, 2nd floor
- El Balcon: the restaurant from the Hotel El Albergue is the cutest place I’ve been in Cusco! The stone walls and wooden furniture just made me melt… And the food was amazing! Just a few streets out of the busy center, this place is definitely worth it! Tambo de Montero 222

- Cantina Vino Italiano: amazing italian food with quality products (whch explains the high price for some of the dishes) with great lasagna (20 soles) and amazing plates of cheese/cuts (45 soles). Don’t forget to take a nice red Italian wine. Calle Saphi 554
- Chalca: this place was a very good surprise! I stepped into the restaurant to buy a bottle of water and stayed to have lunch. The place has 2 levels including a cute patio and mezzanine. The menu (traditional starter, main course, drink) costs 10 soles and is really good. The place is adorable, colorful and the service is great. Calle 7 Cuartones 382
- Organika: very good and tasty healthy organic food made. They even harvested the products from their very own garden in the Sagred Valley. The dishes are very well-presented colorful, but are a bit small. Calle Resbalosa 410

- La Bodega 138: the perfect place for pizza and wine! Herrajes 138
- Supayshi sushi: 20 sushis for 10 soles, and you even get the deliciousness with it! It’s more a bar-terrasse so you might want to take a hot jacket if you’re planning on eating there. Santa Teresa 383
For a snack or a little sweet tooth moment:
- Deli Monasterio: this place will ravish your sweet tooth! They make delicious pastries for a good price (8-12 soles). You should definitely try the hojaldre de durazno (peach puff pastry). I would take it to go as the place isn’t very charming… Calle Palacio 138
- Eusebio & Manolo: for a quick waffle or a breakfast menu (10 soles including coffee/tea, waffles/toasts/croissant, orange juice), this is the place. But there are only a few chairs so better take it to go. Calle Carmen Alto 116
- La Valeriana: cute bakery with a very tea-time atmosphere (8-14 soles a cupcake or slice of cake) Portal Espinar 115
- There is no name for this place but they have amazing churros especial! You’ll find on the Plaza Clara, next to Mifarma and Vrinda shop, a lady selling them for 1 sol each at a stand at the entrance of a restaurant
