Cafayate, a few hours south of Salta, is well known for its vineyards and torrontés grapes. From Salta, you can easily take a day tour visiting the vineyards and the Quebrada de las Conchas (about 700 pesos for the day tour including the guide).
People say there are 360 days of sun in Cafayate, which is why the grape is so sweet and unique to the region. It is also the only native type of grape in Argentina!
Going through Quebrada de las Conchas, impressive canyon, you’ll see various geological sites such as the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s throat) and the Anfiteatro (amphitheater). The ride is a pure beauty, the whole way!

In the Amphitheater, you can do a Matrix kind of picture as the sides are inclined.

When in Cafayate, don’t forget to try the ice cream! You’ll find different flavors, including Malbec and torrontés, which is quite interesting.
